過去進行時的用法小結

1. 表示在過去某一時刻或某一階段正在發生的動作。如：

I was having a shower at that time. 那時我正沖澡。

2. 表示某個短暫性動作發生的背景。如：

I was reading the newspaper when the doorbell rang. 我正在看報，突然門鈴響了。

3. 過去進行時在語境中的運用。如：

I waved to her but she wasn't looking. 我向她揮手但她沒往這邊瞧(from www.hz123456.com)。

She didn't hear the doorbell. She was listening to the radio. 她沒聽見門鈴響，她在聽收音機。

注：與 always, forever, frequently 等副詞連用，可表示某種感情的色彩。如：

She was forever complaining. 她老是抱怨。(厭煩)

She was always thinking of others. 她老是想到別人。(贊揚)
