英語基礎語法：過去將來時

一、用法

過去將來時表示從過去某個時間看將要發生的事情。

二、構成

過去將來時由would, was/were going to, was/were to was/were about to等加動詞原形構成, 也可由was/were on the point of加動名詞構成。

I knew you would agree. 我知道你會同意的。

I said I would arrange everything. 我說我來安排一切。

注：在過去將來時中，所有人稱都用would，尤其在口語中。只有個別情況才用should。如：

We knew we should win. 我知道我們會贏。

I told her that I was leaving soon. 我告訴她我們很快就要離開。

We were to have been married last year. 我們本來打算去年結婚的。

When we arrived, the train was just going to start. 我們到達時，火車正要啟動。

I was about to leave when the telephone rang. 我正在離開，電話鈴響了。

I was on the point of going when you came in. 我正要出去你來了。

The talk was due to last for three days. 會談將進行三天。
