一般現在時表將來的六種用法

按英語語法的一般習慣，一般現在時表示現在的狀態或現在經常性的動作，而一般將來時表示將來存在的狀態或將來發生的動作。但是，在某些特殊情況下，英語卻要用一般現在時代表示一般將來表示將來意義。在中學英語中，這種用法主要見于以下六種情形：

■在時間或條件狀語從句中

主要指由 when, as soon as, before, after 等引導的時間狀語從句和由if引導的條件狀語從句。如：

Tell him as soon as he arrives. 他一到就告訴他。

I’ll go to see him when I have time. 我有時間要去看他。

If he calls, tell him I’ll ring back. 如果他來電話，告訴他我將給他回電話。

■在 be careful 后的 that 從句中

be careful 后接 that 從句時，表示“小心……”“當心……”等。如：

Be careful that you don’t hurt her feelings. 當心別傷了她的感情。

Be careful the dog doesn’t bite you. 小心別讓狗咬著你。

He tells us to be careful that we don’t break the vase. 他叫我們小心，不要打破了花瓶。

■在 make sure 后的 that 從句中

make sure 的意思是“確保”“一定”“務必”等。如：

Make sure you come back soon. 你要保證快點回來。

Make sure you keep hold of my hand when we cross the road. 過馬路時一定要抓住我的手。

You must get up early to make sure that you catch the early bus. 你必須早起以確保能趕上早班車。

■在 mind 后的 that 從句中

mind 的意思是“當心”“注意”“小心”等。如：

Keep close to me, and mind you don’t slip. 靠近我，小心別滑倒了。

Mind you don’t bump your head on the low ceiling. 天花板很低，留神別碰頭。

■在 watch 后的 that 從句中

watch 的意思也是“當心”“注意”“小心”等。如：

Watch that the baby doesn’t go near the heater. 注意別讓寶寶接近加熱器。

■在 hope 后的賓語從句中

與以上情況必須要用一般現在時表示將來意義有所不同的是，hope 后的賓語從句，既可用一般現在時表示將來意義，也可直接使用將來時態。如：

I hope that we (will) have good weather. 我希望我們會有好天氣。

I hope that you (will) have a wonderful time. 我希望你們玩兒得痛快。
