動詞+ it + that從句(例句均出處詞典)

■在通常情況下，及物動詞后接that從句時，其間是不能用形式賓語it的，如：

The police learned that he wasn’t there at that time. 警察獲知他那時不在場。

He realized that she too was exhausted. 他意識到她也精疲力盡。

He answered that he knew nothing about it. 他回答說他不知情。

She complained that the exam was too hard. 她抱怨考試太難。

He asked that he be given an opportunity to explain his case. 他請求給他機會解釋他的情況。

They demanded that the right to vote be given to every adult man. 他們要求每個成年人都應有選舉權。

■但有幾個動詞是例外，它們是like, have, take, put等。如：

like it that… 很高興……

I like it that you came. 你來了，我很高興。

We like it that you can lend us the money. 很高興，你能借錢給我們。

have it that… 據說……；據聞……

Legend has it that Wu Sung is buried at Hangzhou. 傳說武松葬在杭州。

Report has it that the Smiths are leaving town. 有傳言說史密斯一家要離開這座城市。

Rumor has it that the defence minister will soon resign. 據傳聞，國防部長不久就要辭職。

Rumour has it that we’ll have a new manager soon. 據說我們不久就要來一位新經理。

put it that… 理解為……；可以說是……

You can put it that it was arranged before. 你可以說這是以前安排的。

take it that… 假定……；猜想……；認為……

I take it you have been out. 我猜你剛出去回來。

I take it that he will come on time. 我認為他會準時來的。

I take it that we are to leave early. 我想我們動身會很早的。

I take it that you won’t be working tomorrow. 我覺得你明天不會工作了。

I take it you won’t be coming to Sophie’s party. 我想你不會去參加索菲家的聚會。

Are we to take it that you refuse to co-operate? 我們是否可以認為你拒絕合作?

I take it that’s that we’ve heard your final offer? 我看就這樣了——我們已經了解到你們出的最高價了吧?
