be sorry to do與be sorry to have done用法的區別 ■本站特約作者 陳根花 1. 表示將要發生的情況 表示將要發生的情況時,只能用 be sorry to do sth,不能用 be sorry to have done sth。如: I’m sorry to disappoint you, but we can’t go. 很抱歉讓你失望了,我們不能去。 I’m sorry to say that I won’t be able to accept the job. 很遺憾,我不能接受這工作。 I’m sorry to trouble you, but could you open the door for me? 對不起,麻煩你一下,你能幫我把門打開嗎? I’m sorry to bother you, but could you tell me the way to the station? 對不起打擾一下,請問去車站怎么走? We received your communication of 11th March and are sorry to inform you that we won’t be attending the conference. 我們收到了貴方3月11日的來函,但很遺憾地通知你們,我們不能出席會議。 2. 表示已經發生的情況 表示已經發生的情況時,既可用 be sorry to do sth,也可用 be sorry to have done sth。如: (1) 用 be sorry to do sth的例子: I’m very sorry to keep you waiting. 對不起,讓你久等了。 I was sorry to hear of your accident. 獲悉你遇到了意外, 我很難過。 We were sorry to miss your concert. 我們很遺憾沒有去聽你的音樂會。 (2) 用 be sorry to have done sth的例子: I’m sorry to have incurred his anger. 我很抱歉惹他生氣了。 I’m terribly sorry to have kept you waiting. 很抱歉,讓你久等了。 I’m sorry to have put you to all this bother. 真抱歉給你添了這么多的麻煩。 In the letter Annie said she was sorry to have run off without a word, but that she was happy with her marriage and work. 在信里安妮為自己不辭而別表示抱歉,但她說她的婚姻生活愉快,工作也順利。 3. 后接for [about] doing sth 若后接for [about] doing sth,則通常表示對已發生的動作表示遺憾。如: I’m sorry for making such a fuss. 我這樣大發脾氣,真是不好意思。 I’m sorry for giving you so much trouble. 對不起,給你添了很多麻煩。 He wasn’t sorry for hitting the other boy. 他打了另外一個男孩,居然毫無悔意。 I’m sorry about breaking the vase—it was an accident. 對不起,我把花瓶打碎了——這是個意外。 He says he’s really sorry for taking the car without asking. 他沒打招呼就用了車,他說他為此感到非常抱歉。 若要強調動作已經完成,也可動名詞的完成式。如: I’m sorry for having wasted your time. 我很抱歉浪費了你的時間。 引用地址: |
