問題：這是一個(gè)強(qiáng)調(diào)句，被強(qiáng)調(diào)成分為句中主語(yǔ)，因此應(yīng)將賓格him改為主格he。

■14. and the people, who supported the free-soil policy and insisted that slavery must not expand one inch farther, were greatly increased in number.（第112頁(yè)倒數(shù)第5-3行）

問題：根據(jù)上下文，這句話的主句應(yīng)使用主動(dòng)語(yǔ)態(tài)。

■15. With this daring, arresting novel Mrs. Stowe manifested how inseparable cruel exploitation came from slavery and how fundamentally irreconcilable were free and slave societies.（第113頁(yè)第12-15行）

問題：這句話的賓語(yǔ)是兩個(gè)how引導(dǎo)的從句。第一個(gè)how從句不知道作者要表達(dá)什么意思，但顯然存在語(yǔ)法錯(cuò)誤，第二個(gè)how從句語(yǔ)序錯(cuò)誤，應(yīng)將were放在句尾。這種單復(fù)數(shù)形式隨意使用的情況，教材中多次出現(xiàn)。
