（九）限定詞的順序問題

英語中修飾名詞的限定詞按照其位置分為三類，即前位限定詞、中位限定詞、和后位限定詞。如果同時出現時，需遵循上述先后順序。

41. The most effective arguments often make use of all three of the persuasive appeals: logical appeal, emotional appeal and personal appeal. (p. 245)

【問題分析】在本句中，all，three，the 均為修飾名詞appeals的限定詞，all屬于前位限定詞，three屬于后位限定詞，the屬于中位限定詞，因此all three of the persuasive appeals應改為all of the three persuasive appeals。

（十）垂懸修飾語問題

42. To distinguish them from traditional opera they are known as “huaju” (spoken plays) in China. (p. 286)

【問題分析】按照英語句法特點，To distinguish的邏輯主語應與句子為同一主語，但本句中，情況顯然不是如此。建議句子改為：To distinguish them from traditional opera, we call them “huaju” (spoken plays) in China.

（十一）關系代詞用法問題

43. As it is stipulated in the Program of CACSEC, the major purpose of the Association is to “carry out the comparative study of English and Chinese systematically and hierarchically so as to improve the English teaching… (p.3)

【問題分析】從句子結構上看，as在這里用作關系代詞，引導非限制性定語從句，用于指主句所提到的信息。由于它本身在從句中充當主語，因此As it is stipulated in the Program of CACSEC中的it多余，應該去掉。

當然，書中也不乏正確使用的例子。如：

As is known to all China has a long history of translation for 3,000 years and a system is said to have been developed with the revision of the translation norms. (p.5)
