a 和 an 的區別

若名詞或名詞前面的修飾詞以元音開頭，用 an，其余情況用 a。如：

A new car is much more expensive than an old car. 新車比舊車貴得多。

Luck plays an important part in many card games. 在許多紙牌游戲中，運氣是很重要的。

注意：

■以元音開頭的字母以及以元音開頭的字母縮略語(如 a, e, f, h, i, l, m, n, o, r, s, x, SOS, MBA 等)前若用不定冠詞，用 an 不用 a。如：

You missed an “i” in the word “skiing”. 你在 skiing 這個單詞中漏寫了一個字母 i。

■有些單詞雖以元音字母開頭，但其讀音為輔音；相反，有些單詞雖以輔音字母開頭，但其讀音卻是元音。如：

He is an honest businessman. 他是個誠實的商人。

She has one-year-old son. 他有一個1歲的兒子。
