一、alive的用法

1. 活著的；沒(méi)死的(living；not dead)

(1) 作表語(yǔ)。例如：

She was still alive when I reached the hospital. 當(dāng)我趕到醫(yī)院的時(shí)候, 她還活著呢。

(2) 作后置定語(yǔ)。例如：

Who’s the greatest man alive? 當(dāng)今最偉大的人物是誰(shuí)？

(3) 作賓語(yǔ)補(bǔ)足語(yǔ)。例如：

We found him alive. 我們發(fā)現(xiàn)他活著。

2. 有活力的；充滿了活力或生氣的；活躍的 (active；lively)

(1) 作表語(yǔ)。例如：

You seem very much alive today. 你今天好像非�；钴S。

(2) 作后置定語(yǔ)。例如：

a face alive with mischief 一張充滿調(diào)皮神色的臉

(3) 作賓語(yǔ)補(bǔ)足語(yǔ)。例如：

The news of victory kept us alive in excitement. 勝利的消息使我們興奮。

3.存在著；繼續(xù)不斷(in existence；continuing)

(1) 作表語(yǔ)。例如：

Ancient traditions are very much alive in rural areas. 古老的傳統(tǒng)在農(nóng)村地區(qū)仍然保存的非常完好。

(2) 作賓語(yǔ)補(bǔ)足語(yǔ)。例如：

It was necessary to keep this fiction alive. 必須讓這個(gè)美麗的謊言保持下去。

4. 充滿(生物或活的東西) 的 (full of living or moving things；abounding) (1) 作表語(yǔ)。例如：

The lake was alive with fish. 湖里滿是游來(lái)游去的魚。

(2) 作后置定語(yǔ)。例如：

a garden alive with bees 蜜蜂紛飛的園子

a town alive with tourists 一個(gè)游客不斷的市鎮(zhèn)

5. 對(duì)某事物注意到的或敏感的(aware of or responsive to sth)

作表語(yǔ)。例如：

He is fully alive to the possible dangers. 他充分注意到會(huì)有危險(xiǎn)。

注：現(xiàn)代英語(yǔ)認(rèn)為alive可以作表語(yǔ)、補(bǔ)足語(yǔ)或后置定語(yǔ)，通常不能作前置定語(yǔ)，但也有例外。當(dāng)alive被really修飾時(shí)，也可以作前置定語(yǔ)。例如：a really alive student 一個(gè)卻有生氣的學(xué)生

二、alive的搭配

1. 活著的；沒(méi)死的

(1) be / seem / remain / stay alive。例如：

For the first time in years, he wanted to stay alive. 多年來(lái)他第一次想活下來(lái)。

(2) escape / get out / return alive。例如：

You have a chance to escape with your brother and your father alive.你有機(jī)會(huì)和你哥哥和父親逃走。

They had little chance of returning alive. 他們幾乎沒(méi)有生還的希望。

(3) keep sb alive。例如：

Doctors fought to keep her alive. 醫(yī)生竭盡全力救活她。

(4) be buried / be burned / be eaten / be found / be left / be captured / be taken

alive。例如：

Five people were found alive in the wreckage. 在廢墟中發(fā)現(xiàn)五個(gè)人還活著。

(5) very much / barely / only half / still alive。例如：

I wasn’t sure if he was still alive. 我不能確定他是否還活著。
