介詞 from 用法注意　　

1. 不要根據(jù)漢語意思在及物動(dòng)詞后誤加介詞 from。如：　　

他上個(gè)星期離開中國(guó)去日本了。　　

誤：He left from China for Japan last week.　　

正：He left Chine for Japan last week.　　

另外，也不要根據(jù)漢語意思錯(cuò)用介詞 from。如：　　

太陽從東方升起，從西方落下。　　

誤：The sun rises from the east and sets from the west.　　

正：The sun rises in the east and sets in the west.　　

2. from雖然本身是介詞，但它有時(shí)也可接介詞短語作賓語。如：　　

Choose a book from among these. 從這些書中選一本吧。　　

A man stepped out from behind the wall. 一個(gè)人從墻后走出來。　　

比較：　　

I took it from the bed. 我從床那兒（或床上）拿的。　　

I took it from under the bed. 我從床下拿的。　　

注意，下面一句用了 from where（引導(dǎo)非限制性定語從句），而未用from which，其中的where=in the tree，即 from where=from in the tree。如：　　

He hid himself in a tree, from where he could see the enemy in the distance. 他躲在一棵樹上，從那兒他可以看到遠(yuǎn)處的敵人。　　

3. 有時(shí)其后可接when, where引導(dǎo)的賓語從句，此時(shí)可視為其前省略了the time, the place。如：　　

He didn’t speak to me from when we moved in. 從我們遷入之時(shí)起，他沒和我說過話。　　

From where I stood I could see everything clearly. 從我站的地方我一切都看得清清楚楚。　　

4. 某些由from…to…構(gòu)成的習(xí)語通常不帶冠詞：　　

from house to house 挨家挨戶　　

from hand to hand 從一人之手到他人之手　　

from time to time 不時(shí)地　　

from shop to shop 逐店　　

from day to day 一天天地　　

from head to foot 從頭至腳, 全身　　

from beginning to end從頭至尾　　

from hand to mouth 賺一點(diǎn)吃一點(diǎn), 僅能糊口
