使用介詞 from 的幾個易錯點

■自出事以來，他一直還在住院。

誤：He has been in hospital since the accident.

正：He has been in hospital since the accident.

析：from用于時間表示“從”，通常只表示時間的起點，要表示從某個時間持續(xù)到另一時間，通常用介詞 since。注：在某些特殊情況下，from 也可能表示持續(xù)的時間，如：from...on (注意此處有 on)，from...to...(注意此處連用了介詞 to)。另外 from childhood 同 since childhood 同義，如：We have been good friends since [from] childhood.(我們從童年時代起就是好朋友)。

■太陽從東方升起，從西方落下。

誤：The sun rises from in the east and sets from the west.

正：The sun rises in the east and sets in the west.

析：漢語說太陽“從”東方升起，實際上是太陽升起“在”東方，故用介詞 in。

■他躲在一棵樹上，從那兒他可以看到遠(yuǎn)處的敵人。

誤：He hid himself in a tree, from which he could see the enemy in the distance.

正：He hid himself in a tree, from where he could see the enemy in the distance.

析：關(guān)于此問題，首先要明確一點，from 是一個較特殊的介詞，它后面不僅可以接名詞或代詞，而且可以接介詞短語，如：He came out from behind the door.(他從門后出來)。上面一句的 from where＝from in the tree，即“從樹里”。
