Translate the underlined part of the following text into English.
People tend to have contact and association with friends with common interests and compatible temperament. Otherwise, their friendship will become estranged or even come to an end. No matter how familiar and intimate people are to each other, it is still necessary for them to keep a certain degree of distance and show some mutual respect. Failure to do so will lead to the breaking up of cooperation and balance between them and thus the termination of their friendship. Everybody hopes to have their own privacy. This forbidden space will be easily intruded into due to excessive informality, resulting in conflicts and gaps. It might be a small thing to treat friends without respect. But such behavior may well be devastating in the long run. So the best way to maintain good friendship is to keep some distance and not to interfere with each other.
