三、指測量（measure）的標準

即指測量重量、純度、價值等的標準或基準。此時為可數。如：

There is no absolute standard for beauty. 美是沒有絕對的標準的。

The kilogram is the international standard of weight. 千克是國際重量標準。

The government has an official standard for the purity of silver. 政府對銀的純度有法定的標準。

The industry standard of temperature for shipping produce is 41 degrees Fahrenheit. 運輸農產品的行業溫度標準是41華氏度。

四、指道德（moral）標準

即指被認可的道德或行為規范；此時要用復數形式。如：

Have standards of morality improved? 道德標準是否已有所改進?

His moral standards have been called into question. 他的道德標準令人生疑。

Standards aren't what they used to be. 現在的行為標準與過去不一樣了。

She differs with [from] her brother about moral standards. 她與兄弟在道德標準上意見不一致。
