4. 口語中的 work 與 do

—How do you feel after taking the medicine?

此題應選D。容易誤選C。在口語中, 動詞do, work有兩個用法值得注意：

1. work 表示“行得通”或“奏效”等：

The plan worked well. 這個計劃很起作用。

The drug will not work. 這藥不會起作用。

It worked like a charm. 這產生了奇效。

Your idea won’t work in practice. 你的想法實際上行不通。

Will these new methods work? 這些新方法會奏效嗎?

I think your suggestion will work. 我想你的建議會奏效的。

The medicine worked and the pain went away soon. 這藥效很好, 疼痛很快就消失了。

2. do 表示“行”、“適合”、“湊合”：

Will that do? 那行嗎?
