(1)“只是……”、“只要……就行了”、“就這些”，用于句末暗示某事不重要。例如：

(2) 表示使某人已受夠了。例如：

(3)“對”、“是這樣”。表示贊許或同意。例如：　　

“You got married, right?”  “Yeah, that’s it.”　　

“You want to know the cause of the problem?”  “Well, years, that’s it.”　　

——That’s life. “人生就這樣”。例如：　　

I’ve always liked black-haired and darked-eyed men, but I fell in love with a blond, blue-eyed boy, Oh, well—that’s life, I suppose.　　

——That’s more like it. “這樣好些！”“這才像話！”表示有進步。例如：　　

Say “cheese” for the camera. That’s more like it.　　

——That’s right. 　　

(1)“好”、“行”。表示同意對方的話或?qū)�問題作肯定回答。例如：　　

Turn the engine on, the put the car in gear. That’s right.　　

“Is this the Eiffel tower?”   “That’s right.”　　

(2)“行了！” “去你的吧！”表示對對方的行為感到氣憤。例如：　　

That’s right！Just get out of here and leave me alone.　　

——That’s that. That was that. “再沒有什么可說或可做的事”、“情況就是這樣”、“就這樣定了”。表示動作或事態(tài)發(fā)展的結(jié)束。例如：　　

It’s no use arguing. She’s made up her mind and that’s that.　　

Then off he drove, and that was that.　　

“I want you to go home”  “I’m staying here, and that’s that.”　　

——this and that 用來避免談?wù)撚嘘P(guān)某事的細節(jié)。例如：　　

He gave her a whisky and soda and chatted about this and that.　　

“What was stolen?”  “Oh, this and that.”　　

——That will do.“這就(那)夠了”、“這(那)就行了”。例如：　　

“Shall I give you some more paper?”  “ No, that’ll do, thank you.”　　

——with that 這樣說著、就那樣。例如：　　

With that, let’s bring the meeting to a close.
