若表示對某一目的有用，通常要用介詞for。如：　　

That implement is useful for many purposes in the kitchen. 那種設備在廚房里可用于多種目的。　　

若后接動名詞表示在某一方面有用，其后通常接介詞in或for。如：　　

Computers are useful in compiling statistics. 計算機在統計數據方面很有用。　　

She was very useful in dealing with foreign visitors. 她很擅長與外賓打交道。　　

It’s a skill that is useful for doing your job. 那是一種對做好你的工作很有用的技巧。
