promise后接that引導(dǎo)的同位語(yǔ)從句，表示某個(gè)承諾的具體內(nèi)容。如：　　

He took my fax number with the promise that he would send me a drawing. 他要了我的傳真號(hào)碼，答應(yīng)給我發(fā)一圖樣。　　

I made a promise to myself that this year, my first year in high school, would be different. 我對(duì)自己作出了承諾，今年——我讀中學(xué)的第一年——將要有所不同。

story后接that引導(dǎo)的同位語(yǔ)從句，表示某個(gè)傳說(shuō)的具體內(nèi)容。如：　　

The story goes that my grandfather saved his captain’s life in battle. 據(jù)說(shuō)我的祖父在戰(zhàn)斗中救了他的上尉一命。　　

The story goes that he was sacked after he was caught stealing company property. 據(jù)說(shuō)他盜竊公司的財(cái)物被抓住后就被開(kāi)除了。　　

13. suggestion 建議　　

suggestion后接that引導(dǎo)的同位語(yǔ)從句，表示某條建議的具體內(nèi)容。如：　　

They didn’t like my suggestion that we should all share the cost. 他們不喜歡我提出的費(fèi)用分?jǐn)偟慕ㄗh。　　

The suggestion that shops should open on Sundays led to a heated discussion. 關(guān)于商店星期日也應(yīng)該營(yíng)業(yè)的提議，引起了激烈的爭(zhēng)論。　　

14. word 消息，傳聞；承諾　　

Word came that our duties would be changed. 有消息說(shuō)我們的職責(zé)會(huì)有所變動(dòng)。　　

He gave his word that he would marry her and she had no cause to doubt him. 他保證會(huì)與她結(jié)婚，她沒(méi)有理由懷疑他。
