三、choose后搭配的介詞

choose的意思是“選擇”“選中”“選定”等，要表示“從……選擇”，其后通常接介詞from。又如：

——choose from 在句末

There are plenty of vegetarian dishes to choose from. 有多道素菜可供選擇。

There are several patchwork cushions to choose from. 有好幾種拼布工藝靠墊可供選擇。

People had very few amusements to choose from. There was no radio, or television.人們幾乎沒有什么消遣可以選擇。沒有廣播，也沒有電視。

——choose from 在句中

Students can choose from a wide range of options. 學生可以從眾多的選修課中選擇。

They will choose from a shortlist of seven candidates. 他們將在7 個候選人中進行選擇。

It is difficult to choose from the vast array of wines on offer. 很難從這么多種葡萄酒中作出選擇。

Customers can choose from sixty hit titles before buying. 顧客可以從60種熱賣圖書中選購。

Students choose from optional subjects in addition to the core curriculum. 除了核心課程外，學生們還選擇選修課。

Choose from over 100 golf packages in our brochure. 請從我們手冊中的100 多個高爾夫球假日旅游套餐中做選擇。

▲其實除了介詞from外，有時也用 among, between 等（也都是表示“從……當”作選擇）。如：

Citizens were forced to choose among candidates from one ruling party. 公民被迫從一個執(zhí)政黨的候選人中進行選擇。

I had to choose between the two jobs. 我得在這兩項工作中作出選擇。

He had to choose between giving up his job and giving up his principles. He chose the former. 他得在放棄工作和放棄原則之間作出選擇。他選擇了前者。

四、choose后不接介詞的例句

以下句子中choose后面沒有接介詞，注意體會其含義：

Choose a card at random from the deck. 從這副牌里隨便選一張。

Choose the image you want by clicking twice. 雙擊選中你想要的圖像。

I helped my sister choose a name for her baby. 我?guī)徒憬憬o她的寶寶取了個名。

We looked at sample books to choose the furniture fabric. 我們翻看樣本冊挑選傢具布料。

We have to choose a colour scheme for the dining room. 我們得給飯廳選一種搭配的顏色。

The teacher asked the students to choose a partner for the next activity. 教師讓學生為下一個活動選擇搭檔。

■大家現(xiàn)在該知道為什么前面那幾個句子中的 from 不能省略了吧！這不是習慣問題，而意思是否合理的問題。
