After all, it's not every day you get a new job. 就是強(qiáng)調(diào)句，被強(qiáng)調(diào)部分是every day，在it's not every day之后省略了that，等于After all, it's not every day that you get a new job.還原后為：After all, you don’t get a new job every day. not仍然否定every day。

意思是：“你不是每天都可以得到一份新的工作。”

It's not every day (that)...句式，在口語中很常見，已經(jīng)由強(qiáng)調(diào)句轉(zhuǎn)化為一個(gè)常用習(xí)語。意為“并不是每天都會(huì)怎樣......”又如：

It's not every day you get the opportunity to study and live in a foreign country.到國(guó)外去學(xué)習(xí)和生活的機(jī)會(huì)不是每天都有的。

It's not every day you learn about other people around the world!畢竟不是每天都能知道世界上別人的事情。

It's not every day that one of your classmates wins an Olympic gold medal.你有同學(xué)贏得奧運(yùn)金牌，那可不是天天發(fā)生的事。

注意強(qiáng)調(diào)句的否定式。

請(qǐng)比較以下兩組，強(qiáng)調(diào)的角度不同：　　

A. It wasn’t I that made fun of him.不是我（而是別人）取笑他。

B. It was I that didn’t make fun of him. 就是我沒有取笑他。

A. It wasn’t Mary that looked down upon you. 不是瑪麗（而是別人）瞧不起你。

B. It was Mary that didn’t look down upon you. 就是瑪麗沒有瞧不起你。

有些否定句在變成強(qiáng)調(diào)句時(shí)，要把否定轉(zhuǎn)移到被強(qiáng)調(diào)的詞語之前。例如部分否定句，在變?yōu)閺?qiáng)調(diào)句時(shí)，要把not提到It is (was)之后。此外，“not… until…”句式的強(qiáng)調(diào)也要特別注意，應(yīng)將not置于被強(qiáng)調(diào)部分里面。例如：

注意以下句子如何變成強(qiáng)調(diào)句：　　

All of the boys in our class don’t like football.

→It isn’t all of the boys in our class that (who) like football.

Both sisters are not interested in physics.

→It isn’t both sisters that (who) are interested in physics.

Everybody doesn’t know the answer.

→It isn’t everybody that knows the answer.

All that glitters is not gold.

→It isn’t all that glitters that is gold.

Money can’t buy everything.

→It is not everything that money can buy.

He didn’t realize his mistake until the teacher had told him.

→It wasn’t until the teacher had told him that he realized his mistake.
