boil 的用法三要點

1. 用作及物動詞表示“烹煮”時，可后接雙賓語。如：

Mother boiled me an egg.

= Mother boiled an egg for me.

母親給我煮了一個雞蛋。

2. boiling water與boiled water意思不同，前者指“正在沸騰的水”，后者指“開水（已經(jīng)開過的水）”。

Why did you wash it in boiling water? 你為什么把它放在開水里洗？

Cool the boiled water to proper temperature. 把開水冷卻到適當(dāng)?shù)臏囟取?/SPAN>

3. 在口語中，現(xiàn)在分詞boiling可用作副詞，但通常只限于boiling hot（很熱）這一搭配中，相當(dāng)于very hot。如：a boiling hot day 炎熱的一天。類似的還有：a baking hot day 炎熱的一天 / piping hot water (soup) 滾燙的水（湯）等。
