動詞persuade的用法與搭配

1. 表示說服某人做某事，有以下3類句式可以使用：

(1) persuade sb to do sth

I want to persuade him to change his mind. 我想勸他改變主意。

Each tried to persuade the other to stay at home. 兩人彼此勸說對方留在家里。

(2) persuade sb into doing sth

He persuaded her into going to the party. 他說服她參加這次聚會。

He persuaded his daughter to change her mind. 他說服女兒改變主意。

(3) persuade sb that-從句：注意從句前的sb不能省去，且謂語要用“should+v.”這樣的虛擬語氣。如：

She persuaded him that she was telling the truth. 她讓他相信她講的是真話。

比較以下同義句：

He persuaded her to marry him. 他說服了她嫁給他。

He persuaded her into marrying him. 他說服了她嫁給他。

He persuaded her that she should marry him. 他說服了她嫁給他。

2. persuade 表示“勸服”，若表示 “勸而不服或勸說不一定成功”時，應用 try [want] to persuade 或 advise。如：

They tried to persuade him to stay, but he just wouldn’t listen. 他們勸他留下，可他不聽。

3. 表示“使相信”（=convince），常用于 persuade sb of sth /persuade sb+that-從句（從句前的 sb 仍不能省去，但從句謂語用陳述語氣）。如：

我無法使他相信我是誠實的。

正：I could not persuade him of my honesty.

正：I could not persuade him that I was honest.
