快速搞定there be 句式的五個要點

1. 表示存在，be 的數通常與其后名詞的數保持一致。如：

There is a book on the desk. 桌上有本書。

There are some books on the desk. 桌上有些書。

注：在口語或非正式文體中，there’s 有時可放在復數名詞前。如：

There’s some children at the door. 門口有幾個孩子。

2. there be 句型可以有各種時態，且時態就由其中的動詞 be來體現。如：

There is going to be [There will be] a storm soon. 很快就會下暴雨了。

There have been many such accidents. 已發生了好幾起那樣的事故。

注：有時可與情態動詞連用。如：

There may be a storm tomorrow. 明天可能有風暴。

There must have been a mistake. 一定出過什么差錯。

3. there be 句型中的動詞 be 有時可根據情況換成其他動詞(如live, remain, seem, appear, exist, happen, stand, lie, come 等)。如：

There once lvied a poor farmer who had four sons. 從前有個窮苦的農夫，他有四個兒子。

There seems [appears] something the matter with her. 她好像是出了什么事似的。

注：在這類句型中，有時將地點狀語提前(置于句首)，則可以省略 there。如：

Behind the house (there) lies a river. 房子后面有條河。

4. 在“there be＋名詞＋動詞”句型中，其是的動詞根據情況可用現在分詞(表示在進行或持續)、過去分詞(表示被動關系)、不定式(表示動詞未發生)等。如：

There is a magazine lying on the ground. 地上有本雜志。

There is much work to do [to be done]. 有許多工作要做。

There were ten people killed in the accident. 事故中有10人喪生。

5. 關于 there be 的非謂語形式：一般說來，作動詞賓語，要用there to be；作狀語要用 there being。如：

People don’t want there to be another war. 人們不希望再打戰。

There being nothing else to do, we went home. 由于沒什么其他的事要干，所以我們就回家了。

注：用作介詞賓語通常要用 there being, 但若用作介詞 for的賓語則是個例外(即要用 there to be)。比較：

They asked for there to be another meeting. 他們要求再開一個會。

We planned on there being another meeting. 我們計劃再開一個會。
