一、習慣上只接動名詞作賓語的英語動詞歸納

有的動詞后接另一動詞作賓語時，通常要用動名詞，不用不定式。這類動詞常見的有：

admit 承認             advise 建議              allow 允許             appreciate 感激

avoid 避免              consider 考慮          delay 推遲             deny 否認

discuss 討論            dislike 不喜歡        enjoy 喜愛              escape 逃脫

excuse 原諒             fancy 設想            finish 完成               forbid 禁止

He advised leaving early. 他建議早點動身。

I don’t mind being poor. 我對貧困不在乎。

He just missed being struck. 他險些兒被打著。

He avoided answering my questions. 他避而不答我的問題。

We don’t allow eating in the classrooms. 我們不允許在教室吃飯。

They discussed selling the house. 他們商量過賣房子的事。

There is no way to escape doing the work. 沒有辦法逃脫做這項工作。

Can you imagine living without electricity? 你能想象沒有電的生活嗎?

Nobody mentioned going there helping her. 沒有人提到要去那兒幫助她。

He suggested going together in one car. 他建議大家一起坐一輛汽車去。

注：有的動詞(如advise, allow, forbid, permit等)后雖然不能直接跟不定式作賓語，但可接不定式作賓語補足語。如：

He advised me not to take too much work. 他勸我別做太多工作。

Her boss doesn't allow her to use the telephone.  她的老板不允許她使用電話。

另外，還有些動詞(如consider, understand, discuss等)雖不接不定式作賓語，卻可接“疑問詞+不定式”作賓語。如：

He is considering where to move to. 他在考慮搬到哪里去。

We will discuss how to do it and who should do it.  我們要討論怎樣做這事以及由誰來做事。
