foot it的意思與用法

foot it 為口語慣用語，其意為“步行”，相當于 walk，也就是 not travel by bus, etc 的意思。如：

He’ll have to foot it. 他將只好步行去。

The last train has gone. We’ll have to foot it. 最后一班車已經開了，我們得走回去了。

He walked in and I hotfooted it out the back door. 他走了進來，而我從后門溜了出去。

英語中還有一個類似習語，就是hotfoot it，也主要用于口語，其意為walk or run hurriedly and eagerly，可譯為“急走”“急跑”。如：
