1. 用作動詞，注意以下用法：

(1) 表示匆忙到某處去，hurry 之后只需直接表示方向的副詞或介詞短語即可，習慣上不接 go, come, move 等之類的表示運動方向的動詞。如：

誤：After a quick breakfast, he hurried to go to the station.

正：After a quick breakfast, he hurried to the station.

(2) 在肯定句中可以連用副詞 up, 但在否定句中通常不連用 up。如：

Don’t hurry. There’s plenty of time. 別急，有的是時間。

hurry up 后有時可接“and+動詞”來代替表示目的的不定式（很少直接跟不定式）。如：

(3) 表示匆忙做某事，其后可接不定式。如：

He hurried to get the doctor. 他急忙去請醫生。

The waiter hurried to clean up the pieces of the broken plates. 服務員趕緊把盤碟的碎片掃掉。

(4) 表示催促某人做某事，通常用hurry sb into doing sth。如：

Her parents are trying to hurry her into marriage. 她父母正設法催她快點結婚。

有時用于被動語態。如：

I was hurried into making an unwise decision. 我在催逼之下草率地作出了不明智的決定。

偶爾也用hurry sb to do sth結構，但在現代英語已很少見。如：

The salesman hurried the customer to make a choice. 售貨員催促顧客作出選擇。

(1) 用于 in a hurry（匆忙，急切），其中必須有冠詞，在句中可用作狀語或表語。如：

She dressed in a hurry. 她匆忙穿好衣服。

He was in a hurry to leave. 他急于要離開。

比較以下各句（用了物主代詞）：

In my hurry I forgot to take my wallet with me. 匆忙間我忘了帶錢包。

(2) 用于There is no hurry (to do sth), 表示“不用急于做某事”。如：
