increase的重要搭配歸納

1. 表示“增加”“增長”，可用作名詞或動詞，主要指數(shù)量或程度等方面的增加；若表示在某一方面的增加，一般與介詞in連用。比較：

It has increased 20 percent in price. 它的價格已上漲20%。

Increase in population caused a shortage of food. 人口增加導(dǎo)致食品短缺。

2. 表示增加了多少，若是用作動詞，一般與介詞 by連用（有時可省略）；若是用作名詞，一般與介詞 of 連用，比較：

這個城市的人口增加了5個百分點。

正：The population of this city has increased (by) 5 per cent.

正：The population of this city shows an increase of 5 per cent.

3. 表示增加到多少，一般與介詞to連用。如：

Her weight has increased to 70 kilos. 她的體重增加到了70公斤。

His salary has been increased to $3,000. 他的工資已增加到3,000美元。

4. 用于on the increase（在不斷增加），注意其中的冠詞。如：

Traffic accidents here are on the increase. 這里的交通事故在不斷增加。

Crime is on the increase in big cities. 在大城市里，犯罪正在逐漸增加。
