leave的三個意思與三類搭配

1. 表示“離開”，注意以下用法：

(1) 表示離開某地，leave為及物動詞，后面可直接跟表示地點的名詞，不要按漢語習慣在其后用from或off。如：

他離開這個國家已經兩年了。

誤：It is two years since he left from the country.

正：It is two years since he left the country.

另外，漢語說“離開”，英語用leave就行了，不要將其直譯為leave away。

(2) 表示離開去某地，其后一般接介詞for（通常不用to），表示方向。如：

They are leaving for Paris. 他們要去巴黎了。

The plane leaves Heathrow for Orly at 12.35. 飛機于12點35分離開希思羅機場飛往奧利。

2. 表示“留下”，注意帶雙賓語的用法：

(1) 表示給某人留下某物，此時若雙賓語交換位置，用介詞 for引出間接賓語。如：

The left me no food.=They left no food for me. 他們沒有給我留下食物。

Someone left you this note.=Someone left this note for you. 有人給你留下了這張條子。

(2) 表示某人死后留下某物，此時若雙賓語交換位置，用介詞to引出間接賓語。如：

My aunt left me a large fortune.=My aunt left a large fortune to me. 我姑媽死后給我留下一大筆財產。

3. 表示“交給”“留給”“讓（處于某種狀態）”等，注意以下句型：

(1) 用于 leave sth to [with] sb, 意為“把某物交給（委托給）某人”。如：

You’d better leave the matter to [with] me. 你最好把這事交給我辦。

I’ll leave everything to [with] you then. 那么我就把一切都交給你了。

(2) 用于 leave sb to do sth, 意為“讓某人去做某事”。如：

He left me to wash the clothes. 他讓我去洗衣服。

She left me to take care of her baby. 她托我照看她的嬰兒。

(3) 用于 leave sb doing sth, 意為“讓某人做某事（處于做某事的狀態中）”。如：

His letter left me feeling pretty bad. 他的信讓我感到很難受。

They walked off and left me sitting there all by myself. 他們走開了，讓我孤零零一個人坐在那兒。
