“of + 抽象名詞”的用法說明

“of＋抽象名詞”的用法與形容詞用法相同，在句中可作表語、定語、補(bǔ)語。在抽象名詞(如use, value, help, importance, difference等)前面可用little, some, any, no, great, not much 等修飾；有的可用同根形容詞代替，如：

It’s of no practical use to me. 這對(duì)我沒什么實(shí)際用途。

The work I am doing is not of much value. 我做的工作沒有多大價(jià)值。

She felt that most of what she learned in the course was of no practical use. 她感到她在課上學(xué)到的大部分知識(shí)都沒有實(shí)際用途。

Today’s elections are of no great importance in themselves. 今天的選舉本身并不是很重要。

The economics of national growth are of the greatest importance to all modern governments. 國(guó)民經(jīng)濟(jì)增長(zhǎng)的情況對(duì)所有現(xiàn)代政府至關(guān)重要。
