7. 引導名詞性從句的what

引導名詞性從句的what在從句中作主語、賓語、表語或定語。what有時具有疑問代詞的性質，意為“什么”“什么樣的”；有時具有關系代詞的性質，意為“所……的”，相當于“先行詞＋關系代詞that”，即相當于“the＋名詞＋that”或all that。如：

(1) 相當于疑問代詞

Do you know what his sickness is? 你知道他患什么病嗎?

Look about and tell me what you see. 向四周望望，告訴我你看到了什么。

(2) 相當于“先行詞+關系代詞”

What he had hoped at last came true. 他希望的事最后實現了。

He was deeply touched by what she said. 她的話深深觸動了他。

We can learn what we did not know. 我們可以學會我們不知道的東西。

8. –ever引導的名詞性從句

這些詞包括whatever, whoever, whichever等，它們可用于引導主語從句和賓語從句。其中whatever大致相當于anything that或what，但語氣比what更強；whoever大致相當于anyone who；whichever大致相當于any that或any…that。如：

I will just say whatever comes into my mind. 我想到什么就說什么。

Whoever breaks the rules will be punished. 誰違反這些規則都將受到處罰。

I’ll give the ticket to whoever wants it. 請想要這票，我就把它給誰。

Whichever team gains the most points wins. 哪個隊得分最多，哪個隊就贏。

Whichever of us gets home first starts cooking. 我們當中無論哪個先到家，哪個就先開始做飯。

9. “疑問詞＋do you think＋從句”類句型

當think, believe, suppose等的疑問式后接疑問詞(連接代詞和連接副詞)引導的賓語從句時，習慣上將疑問詞置于句首。如：

What do you think she would feel? 你想她會有什么感覺?

How long do you think you’ll be gone?  你想你會離開多久?

What do you think the result will be? 你認為會產生什么樣的結果?

When do you think it can be operated on?  你想什么時候可以給它動手術?

注：有時what do you think…后接的不是一個從句，而是句子的謂語，此時do you think可視為一個插入成分。如：

Which idea do you think is best? 你認為哪個主意最好？

Who do you think will win on Saturday? 你認為星期六誰會贏?
