注意，盡管表示“背靠背”“面對面”“肩并肩”等均用的是介詞to，但表示“手拉手”卻要用in。

二、深入學習以強化記憶

1. back to back 背靠背，背對背

The children sat back to back so they couldn’t see each others’ drawings. 孩子們背靠背坐著，以免看見彼此的畫。

另外，該短語還可表示“接連地”“接二連三地”。如：

The team had to play three games back to back. 這個隊得接連打三場比賽。

2. eye to eye 看法完全一致，有相同的看法

該短語通常與動詞see連用，且主要用于否定句。如：

We didn’t exactly see eye to eye. 我們的觀點并非完全一致。

The two of them have never seen eye to eye on politics. 他們兩人的政見從來就沒一致過。

Jim and I have never seen eye to eye on this matter. 我和吉姆對此事的意見從來就不一致。

3. face to face 面對面

His ambition was to meet his favourite pop star face to face. 他一心向往的是要面對面地見見他心目中的流行曲歌星。

The two rival politicians were brought face to face in a TV interview. 那兩個對立的政客面對面地一起接受電視訪問。

若表示“與……面對面”，后接介詞with。如：

Suddenly I found myself face to face with the young man. 突然我發現自己和那青年面對面地站著。

The burglar turned the corner and found himself face to face with a policeman. 盜賊一拐彎面對面地碰上個警察。
