1. could后接一般式表推測(cè)

A faulty connection could easily cause a fire. 接錯(cuò)線路容易引發(fā)火災(zāi)。

This new drug could be an important step in the fight against cancer. 這種新藥有可能是抵抗癌癥的一個(gè)重要步驟。

Though he had a temper and could be nasty, it never lasted. 雖然他有脾氣，有時(shí)還很兇，但從來(lái)不會(huì)持續(xù)太久。

2. could后接完成式表推測(cè)

Be careful with that stick — it could have gone in my eye! 注意那根棍子，差點(diǎn)戳到我的眼睛了。

I waited ages for you — you could have said that you weren’t coming! 我等了你好久，你應(yīng)該告訴我一聲你不來(lái)了！

注意用于虛擬語(yǔ)氣的用法。如：

I could have warned you if I had known where you were. 我要是知道你在哪里的話我就會(huì)提醒你了。
