【問題分析】we gave firmly focused顯然存在語法錯誤，應該把gave去掉。

十、缺乏政治意識導致的翻譯不當

從事對外宣傳翻譯，一定要有政治敏感性。對一些敏感的政治術語，翻譯一定要慎重。其中一個典型的例子就是我國“統一”大業的翻譯問題。一般情況下，把“統一”翻譯成unification，當然沒有問題。但我國的情況比較特殊，臺灣、香港、澳門過去早就是我國的領土，只是后來由于各種歷史原因，被分割出去。因此，如今我們所說的統一，實際上是“重新統一”。對此，我國翻譯學界和外交界的學者們早已達成共識，即為了反映這一歷史事實，我國的“統一”應翻譯成reunification。但遺憾的是，在該譯文中，這一政治問題還是沒有引起翻譯者的注意，其中就有這樣一句：The basic policy of “one country, two systems” has been implemented successfully, a significant step toward China’s peaceful unification.
