town何時(shí)可以省略冠詞

■特指某座城鎮(zhèn)時(shí)，其前要用定冠詞。如：

The town lies among the mountains. 這座城鎮(zhèn)位于眾山之中。

All approaches to the town were blocked. 所有通向這座城市的道路都被封鎖了。

■在講到主語(yǔ)或說(shuō)話(huà)人自己的城鎮(zhèn)時(shí)，town前面的the可以省略：

Mary has also gone to town. 瑪麗也進(jìn)城了。

We go to town sometimes to buy clothes. 我們有時(shí)進(jìn)城去買(mǎi)衣服。

We were in town last Monday. 上星期一我們?cè)诔抢铩?/SPAN>

I returned to town by the midnight express train. 我坐午夜快車(chē)回到城里。

I’ve been down town all morning. 整個(gè)早上我都在城里（市中心區(qū)）。

I’m going into town to buy a dress. 我進(jìn)城去買(mǎi)一件衣服。

■有時(shí)也可用冠詞：

After tea I wandered about the town. 吃過(guò)下午茶我在城里轉(zhuǎn)了轉(zhuǎn)。

Then they took a bus into the town. 于是他們搭公共汽車(chē)進(jìn)城。
