helpful 可用于“it+v-link+adj.+of+n+to do sth”嗎？

一、認(rèn)為形容詞helpful可用于“it+v-link+adj.+of+n+to do sth”的主要有：

1.《牛津初中英語》九年級上補(bǔ)充習(xí)題(譯林出版社 2008年7月第2版)p5：

It is helpful of you to prepare the food.

2. 張柏然主編《新時代英漢大詞典》(商務(wù)印書館 2004年4月第1版)p1099：

It is helpful of you to do that. 你那樣做，真是太肯幫忙了。

3. 包天仁主編《新編大學(xué)英語形容詞副詞名詞用法詞典》(世界圖書出版西安公司2000年10月第1版)p295：

It was helpful of you to do that. 你這樣做真是助人為樂之舉。

二、認(rèn)為形容詞helpful可用于“it+v-link+adj.+for+n+to do sth”的主要有：

1. 包天仁主編《新編大學(xué)英語形容詞副詞名詞用法詞典》(世界圖書出版西安公司2000年10月第1版)p295：

Don’t throw it, it is helpful for us to repair the bike. 別扔了它，它對我們修自行車有幫助。

During intensive training in the production of a certain sound, it is helpful for students to hear a correct model after they have produced the sound themselves. 在訓(xùn)練發(fā)音時讓學(xué)生發(fā)完某個音后聽到正確的發(fā)音是很有益的。

2. 張柏然主編《新時代英漢大詞典》(商務(wù)印書館 2004年4月第1版)p1099：

It would be helpful for me to know what you think about the plan. 了解你對這計劃的看法，對我來說是有益的。

3.《牛津高階英漢雙解詞典》(第七版)(商務(wù)印書館 2009年)p955：

It would be helpful for me to see the damage for myself. 要能親眼看看造成的破壞會對我有所幫助。

4. Lingoes (http://www.lingoes.cn/zh/)之《朗文當(dāng)代英語詞典》：

It is helpful for family members to gain a basic understanding of the illness.

5. Lingoes (http://www.lingoes.cn/zh/)之《麥克米蘭英語詞典》- American：

it's helpful for someone to do something: It would be helpful for me to meet him personally.

6. Lingoes (http://www.lingoes.cn/zh/)之《牛津高階英漢雙解詞典》：

It would be helpful for me to see the damage for myself.

從以上對形容詞helpful用法的論述可以看出：只有英語為非母語的人士認(rèn)為helpful可用于“it+v-link+adj.+of+n+to do sth”；而無論英語為母語還是非母語的人士都認(rèn)為helpful可用于“it+v-link+adj.+for+n+to do sth”。

究竟helpful能否用于“it+v-link+adj.+of+n+to do sth”？筆者認(rèn)為無論以英語為母語的英國人，還是以英語為母語的美國人幾乎都不把helpful用于“it+v-link+adj.+of+n+to do sth”之中。何以見得？請看例證：

1. 在BNC(英國國家語料庫http://www.natcorp.ox.ac.uk)和 BUY-BNC BRTISH NATIONAL CORPUS (UK,1980s-1993) (Mark Davies, Brigham Young University ) http://corpus.byu.edu/bnc/ 上共有3115個包含helpful的例句，竟然無有1例helpful用于“it+v-link+adj.+of+n+to do sth”的句子。

2. The Collins WordbanksOnline English corpus (http://www.collins.co.uk/Corpus/) 隨即給出50個包含helpful的例句，竟然無有1例helpful用于“it+v-link+adj.+of+n+to do sth”的句子。

3. TIME CORPUS OF AMERICAN ENGLISH (1923-2006) (Mark Davies, Brigham Young University ) (http://corpus.byu.edu/time) 上共有1162個包含helpful的例句，竟然無有1例helpful用于“it+v-link+adj.+of+n+to do sth”的句子。

4. BUY CORPUS OF AMERICAN ENGLISH (1990-2008) (Mark Davies, Brigham Young University) http://www.americancorpus.org/上共有9792個包含helpful的例句，竟然只有1例helpful用于“it+v-link+adj.+of+n+to do sth”的句子：

It would be very helpful of the leaders of Japan and China to build up relations of mutual trust quickly so that they can instantly communicate with each other at any time over a hot line.
