抽象名詞可用作可數(shù)名詞嗎　　

抽象名詞表示一般概念時，是不可數(shù)名詞，但當它表示具有某種性質(zhì)的人或表示某種情況或概念時，則為可數(shù)名詞。如beauty表示“美”時，為抽象名詞，不可數(shù)，但表示“美人”時，則為具體名詞，可數(shù)；bother表示“麻煩”時，為抽象名詞，不可數(shù)，而表示“麻煩事”時，則為具體名詞，可數(shù)。請看例句：　　

She is quite a beauty. 她真是個美人兒。　　

What a bother! We’ve missed the bus. 真惱人! 我們誤了公共汽車。　　

有趣的是，有少數(shù)抽象名詞總是可數(shù)的，如a denial (一項否認聲明)，a proposal (一項提案)，a scheme (一個計劃)，a statement (一項聲明)等。如：

Recently the company issued a denial of the story. 最近該公司聲明否認此事。
