表推測的can’t 與 may not 有何區(qū)別

表示推測時，can’t意為“不可能”，may not意為“可能不”。如：

He can’t be so rich. 他不可能那么富有。

She can’t be your daughter. 她不可能是你女兒。

He can’t be much below (under) sixty. 他年紀60歲不會差多少。

They can’t have gone out because the light’s on. 他們不可能出去了，因為燈還亮著。

That can’t be his mother—she’s not old enough. 那一定不是他母親——她年紀還不夠大。

Other people [Others] may not think that way. 別的人可能不這樣想。

He may be late. Worse still, he may not come at all. 他可能會遲到。更糟的是，他可能根本不來。

He may not be able to help but there’s no harm in asking him. 他可能幫不了忙，但是求他一下倒也無妨。
