must表示堅(jiān)持的用法

表示“偏偏”不是must的主要用法，但近年來(lái)有的省市的高考英語(yǔ)題也常常涉及此考點(diǎn)，同學(xué)們需引起注意。如：

(1)—May I smoke here?

—If you _______, choose a seat in the smoking section. (山東卷)

A. should           B. could           C. may            D. must

答案為D。must在此表示堅(jiān)持或固執(zhí)，又如：After I gave her my advice，she must go and do the opposite. 在我給她出主意之后她偏反著干。

(2)— Could I have a word with you, mum?

— Oh dear, if you _______. (浙江卷)

A. can               B. must             C. may           D. should

答案為B。must在此表示堅(jiān)持或固執(zhí)，if you must在此的意思是：如果你一定要說(shuō)的話，你就說(shuō)吧。
