in addition 與 in addition to 的用法

■in addition 此外，另外，還有。如：

In addition, they do not match very much. 除此之外，他們兩人并不十分般配。

We met some friends and other people in addition. 我們遇見幾位朋友，還遇見其他一些人

■in addition to 除……之外。如：

We play football in addition to basketball. 除了籃球外，我們還踢足球。

In addition to English, he has to study a second foreign language. 除英語外，他還得學第二外語。

其中的to為介詞，所以后接動詞作賓語時要用動名詞。如：

In addition to giving a general introduction to computers, the course also provides practical experience. 課程除了大致介紹電腦知識外，還提供實際操作的機會。

■當主語后跟有in addition to引出的介詞短語時，謂語動詞仍與其前的主語保持一致。如：

The teacher, in addition tohis students, was interested in the book. 老師和他的學生都對這本書感興趣。
