名詞 cattle 的語法特點

1. 是cows, bulls, oxen等的總稱，雖為單數形式，但總表示復數意義；若用作主語，謂語要用復數；可受many修飾，但不能用much修飾。如：

Many cattle are suffering from a disease called BSE. 許多牛得了瘋牛病。

Cattle are raised for meat, milk, and leather. 養牛是為了獲取牛肉、牛奶和牛皮。

2.要表示“�！钡念^數，可借助 head（單復數同形）。如：

3. a herd of cattle與a head of cattle 不同，前者指“一群牛”，后者指“一頭牛”。
