寫作中動詞延續性與非延續性的三類錯誤

■英語中瞬間動詞不能與“段”時間狀語連用，表達時應將其替換為狀態動詞或延續性動詞。如：

(1) I have borrowed the book for two weeks. (誤)

正：I have kept the book for two weeks.

析：borrow為瞬間動詞。此處要使用延續性動詞keep。

(2) My brother has joined the Army for more than two years. (誤)

正：My brother has been in the Army for more than two years.

或：My brother joined the Army more than two years ago.

(3) Henry lent me a book and he told me that I could borrow it for a week. (誤)

正：Henry lent me a book and he told me that I could keep it for a week.

■瞬間動詞與till或until引導的時間狀語從句或構成的短語連用時，應使用否定形式，否則應使用狀態動詞或延續性動詞。如：

(1) He went to bed until eleven o’clock. (誤)

正：He didn’t go to bed until eleven o’clock.

(2) He got married until he was thirty years old. (誤)

正：He didn’t get married until he was thirty years old.

或：He stayed single until he was thirty years old. (stay為狀態動詞)

(3) He fell asleep until 9 o’clock the next morning. (誤)

正：He slept until 9 o’clock the next morning.

■非延續性動詞不能用于由從屬連詞 while引導的時間狀語從句中。如：

While I came into the classroom，Mary was reading. (誤)

正：When I came into the classroom，Mary was reading.
