關系詞、關系代詞與關系副詞

用于引導定語從句的詞語叫關系詞。關系詞根據其詞性的不同，可分為關系代詞和關系副詞。引導定語從句的關系詞既起連接先行詞與定語從句的作用，同時又在定語從句中充當一定的句子成分。

1. 關系代詞：主要有that, which, who, whom, whose, as等，它們在句子中可用作主語（如that, which, who等）、賓語（如that, which, whom等）和定語（如which, whose）。如：

Is he the man that sells dogs? 他就是賣狗的人嗎?

She is the girl who won the prize. 她就是獲獎的姑娘。

I’ve found the book which I was looking for. 我找到了我要找的書。

She is the woman whose car was stolen. 她就是汽車被盜的那個女人。

She is the woman whom I gave the money to. 她就是我給她錢的那位婦女。

He is absorbed in work, as he often was. 他正在全神貫注地工作，他過去經常這樣。

2. 關系副詞：主要有where, when, why等，它們在句子中主要用作狀語。如：

This is the town where I was born. 這就是我出生的城市。

I’ll never forget the day when I first met you. 我永遠不會忘記第一次見你的那天。

We don’t know the reason why he didn’t show up. 我們不知道他為什么沒有來。
