關閉窗口 anything but與nothing but
1. anything but為習語，意為“根本不是”“一點不是”。如：
I’ll do anything but that. 我絕不會干那種事。
The party was anything but a success. 晚會根本不成功。
The fight is anything but finished. 斗爭絕沒有結束。
The hotel was anything but satisfactory. 這家旅館一點不讓人滿意。
注anything but 有時可單獨使用。如：
I don’t mean he’s lazy—anything but! 我不是說他懶，他根本不懶。
注anything but不僅可用于事物，也可用于人。如：
He is anything but a poet. 他絕不是詩人。
He was anything but polite. 他根本沒有一點禮貌。
2. nothing but也是習語，意為“僅僅”“只”。如：
He’s nothing but a criminal. 他只不過是個罪犯。
He dreams of nothing but going home. 他只想回家。
There is nothing but some waste paper in the desk. 課桌里只有些廢紙。
