by bike之類短語中可用冠詞

類似于by bike 這類短語很多，可用于這類搭配的名詞主要是交通工具，如bus, train, plane, car, taxi, ship, coach等，在這類短語中，名詞前通常不用冠詞。如：

We went by coach. 我們是坐公共汽車去的。

It takes 30 hours to get there by train. 坐火車到那里要三十個鐘頭。

Shall we walk or go by bus? 我們走著去還是坐公共汽車去?

但是，若表示交通工具的名詞前插有定語，則可以使用冠詞。如：

They came here by the first bus. 他們是坐第一班車來的。

We went to Shanghai by a large ship. 我們乘一艘大船去上海。

這樣用的by有時相當(dāng)于介詞on。如：

He is arriving tomorrow morning on [by] the 16:40 train. 他乘下午4:40的火車明天上午到。
