trap=遇難?

《牛津高階英漢雙解詞典》(1989年第四版) (商務印書館)的sustain詞條有這樣一個句子：

Only the hope that the rescuers were getting nearer sustained the trapped miners, ie kept them cheerful and enabled them to stay alive. 遇難礦工盼望援救人員正在接近他們，這是他們賴以堅持下去的唯一希望。

該詞典將 trap 譯為“遇難”似乎不妥。

1．《現代漢語規范詞典》對“遇難”的解釋是：遭到意外或受迫害而死亡。

既然“遇難”暗指死亡，那么“遇難礦工”又怎么還有機會“盼望”呢？

2．英語詞典對 trap 的解釋是：to prevent someone from leaving a place, especially a dangerous place（困住，使陷于危險中），并沒有“死亡”的意味。

建議將原譯中的“遇難”改為“受困”。
