at the back of 的用法

■表示“在……的后面（范圍之外)”，此時(shí)相當(dāng)于 behind，可換用。如：

There is a little garden at the back of the house. 房屋后有個(gè)小花園。

We planted some trees at the back of the church. 我們?cè)诮烫煤竺娣N了些樹(shù)。

■表示“在……的后部（范圍之內(nèi)）”，此時(shí)不能用 behind換用。如：

There is a little room at the back of the house. 房屋后部有個(gè)小房間。

There is a lot of useful information at the back of this dictionary. 這本詞典后面附了很多有用的資料。

■有時(shí)也說(shuō) in the back of。如：

He sat in [at] the back of the car. 他坐在小汽車后部。

His room is in the back of the house. 他的房間在房子的后面。

■在美國(guó)英語(yǔ)中也可省略其中的at [in] the，只用back of。如：

My home lies back of the school. 我家就在學(xué)校后面。
