副詞even的幾點(diǎn)用法

1. 表示“甚至”，通常應(yīng)放在被修飾詞語之前，否則會(huì)引起含義的變化。比較：

Even now he doesn’t believe me. 甚至到現(xiàn)在他還不相信我。（其他時(shí)候就不用說了）

Now even he doesn’t believe me. 現(xiàn)在連他都不相信我了。（其他人就更不會(huì)相信我了）

Now he doesn’t even believe me. 現(xiàn)在他甚至不相信我了。（其他方面的事就更不可能了）

Now he doesn’t believe even me. 現(xiàn)在他甚至連我都不相信了。（其他人就更不會(huì)相信了）

2. 用來修飾形容詞或副詞的比較級，表示“比（已經(jīng)……的）更加……”。如：

Your cooking is even worse than Harry’s. 你的烹飪技術(shù)甚至比哈里還差。

Sally drives fast, but Olive drives even faster. 薩莉開車開得很快，奧利夫開得更快。

You seem even more stupid than usual today. 你今天好像比平時(shí)更加笨了。

3. even 是副詞，不是連詞，所以不要誤用它引導(dǎo)從句。如：

就算你看見是他拾起的錢，你也不能肯定錢就是他偷的。

誤：Even you saw him pick up the money, you can’t be sure he stole it.

正：Even if you saw him pick up the money, you can’t be sure he stole it.

另外，它也不能用介詞，將它誤用作介詞也是初學(xué)者常犯的錯(cuò)誤。如：

我即便聽了他的解釋，仍然不明白。

誤：Even listening to his explanation I’m none the wiser.
