兩個句子都對there be句型提問，為何前者要保留there，后者不是？謝謝！

這是個很有趣的問題。我對此的理解是：

通常說：How many students are there in the classroom?

也可以說：How many students are in the classroom?（不如上句用得多）

通常說：What is in the box?

也可以說：What is there in the box?（不如上句用得多）

你可能不相信我的解釋，下面我給出幾個詞典上的例句加以說明：

——關于how many…are there…句式中省略there 的例句：
