這個about with中的about是多余的嗎

在閱讀中看到這么一句：
An animal who carries her family about with her in her pocket.
袋鼠把整個家都裝在口袋里帶著。
用 WITH 不就好了嗎，about 是表示什么的？

■其實句中的 about with 不是固定搭配，也不是相關搭配——about 與 carry 相關（carry sth / sb about），with 與 her 相關（with sb）。其中的 about 是副詞，意思是“到處”，這是 about 用作副詞時最基本的用法。這樣用的 about 后面不僅可以用 with，也可能用其他介詞。如：
He gets about on his bicycle. 他騎著車到處走。
