already通常連用的句型與時(shí)態(tài)

1. 表示“已經(jīng)”，通常用于肯定句，不用于否定句或疑問句（此時(shí)要用yet）。如：

This idea has already taken root in their minds. 這個(gè)想法已在他們腦中扎根。

This idea hasn’t taken root in their minds yet. 這個(gè)想法還沒有在他們腦中扎根。

2. 若用于否定句或疑問句，則通常含有驚訝之意。如：

You’re not leaving us already, are you? 你已經(jīng)決定要離開我們了，是吧？

Have your children started school already? 你的孩子們已經(jīng)上學(xué)了？

Good Heavens. Have you been to Belfast already? 天哪! 你已經(jīng)去過貝爾法斯特了？

另外，有時(shí)也用于否定的條件狀語從句中。如：

If he hasn’t seen the film already, he may get the ticket. 假若他還未看過這電影，他可以弄到票的。

3. 除通常與完成時(shí)態(tài)連用外，它還可用于以下時(shí)態(tài)：

(1) 進(jìn)行時(shí)態(tài)。如：

He was already balding at the age of 25. 他25歲就禿頂了。

The furniture is already showing signs of wear. 家具已經(jīng)有磨損的跡象了。

(2) 一般現(xiàn)在時(shí)或一般過去時(shí)（動(dòng)詞通常為靜態(tài)動(dòng)詞或狀語動(dòng)詞）。如：

It’s already late. 已經(jīng)遲了。

This machine is already out of date. 這臺(tái)機(jī)器已經(jīng)過時(shí)了。

When I was fourteen I already knew that I wanted to be a doctor. 我14歲的時(shí)候已經(jīng)知道我要當(dāng)個(gè)醫(yī)生。
