慣用語I beg your pardon的用法

口語中說的 I beg your pardon 可以有多種用法：

(1) 用于道歉，比用I’m sorry更正式。如：

I beg your pardon. I suppose I should have knocked. 對不起，我想我本來應該敲門的。

(2) 用于沒聽清或沒聽懂對方的話，請對方再說一遍（可只說Pardon，說時用升調）。如：
